Meatloaf Recipe


Meatloaf is a dish made from ground meat, typically beef, mixed with other ingredients and formed into the shape of a loaf. It is then baked or smoked. Meatloaf is often served as a main dish and is a popular choice for a family meal. There are many variations of meatloaf, and it can be flavored with a variety of herbs, spices, and other ingredients such as onions, garlic, bell peppers, and breadcrumbs. Some people also like to top their meatloaf with a sauce, such as ketchup or tomato sauce.

Here is a recipe for classic meatloaf:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1 small stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup or tomato sauce, for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, carrot, celery, breadcrumbs, egg, 2 tablespoons ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. Spread the remaining 2 tablespoons of ketchup or tomato sauce on top of the loaf.

  4. Bake for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  5. Allow the meatloaf to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
